Biography
Michelle began her musical journey at the tender age of eight years old, taking up the flute and piano. With the support of her parents and teachers, Michelle was inspired to pursue her dream of a career in music.

Michelle attended the prestigious College of New Jersey’s music program where she earned a BM in music education, with an emphasis on flute performance. After completing her undergraduate studies, Michelle began working as a music educator in New Jersey, specializing in winds and percussion. After becoming an educator, Michelle’s passion for music and learning drove her back to school to earn her MA in flute performance. She studied at Montclair State University’s Cali School of Music where she had the privilege of studying with Peggy Schecter, founder of the New Jersey Chamber Music Society and Susan Palma-Nidel, principal flutist of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.

Although a classical player by trade, Michelle’s interest in different genres of music has inspired her to continue her studies in latin, jazz and world music. She has had the honor and pleasure of studying with world-renowned Venezuelan flutist, Marco Granados and jazz and choro virtuoso, Anat Cohen. As a performer, Michelle has performed as a soloist and in ensembles throughout the United States and England.

Michelle’s true passion for music has always been in chamber music. Chamber music provides the opportunity for small ensembles to perform together intimately to create unique and meaningful performances. Michelle and her ensembles’ repertoire include music ranging from Classical, Latin, Celtic, Jazz, Pop and Broadway. Whatever style of music and ensemble you are looking for, Michelle will ensure that the music is customized to fit your exact needs.Her ensembles have played weddings, ceremonies, receptions, gallery events, wine tastings, concerts and private parties throughout New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Along with her chamber groups, Michelle currently plays principal flute with the Eastern Wind Symphony under the direction of Dr. William H. Silvester. These groups have performed in many venues throughout the tri-state area including: New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), The Kennedy Center (Washington D.C.), The Trenton War Memorial, The Waldorff Astoria, The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Penns Landing (Philadelphia) and the G-Bar Lounge.
