Many of her students have gone on to excel within in their school music programs and New Jersey Youth Symphony, as well as in NJMEA (New Jersey Music Educator’s Association) regional, state and all-eastern competitions and ensembles. Michelle specializes in flute and piano lessons of all levels as well as beginning and intermediate band instruments – clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, French horn, baritone horn, tuba and all percussion. She is also a registered Music Together center director/teacher. This program introduces multi-cultural music, instruments and rhythm to children (ages 0-6) and their families.

Michelle graduated from The College of New Jersey’s Music Education program in 2000, with a BM in Music Education and from Montclair State’s Cali School of Music in 2007, with MA in Music Performance. Michelle was employed by the Summit Board of Education, (Summit, NJ), from 2000-2013. There, she taught and conducted ensembles ranging from 4th-12th grade students. A band specialist, she is especially proud of her work with beginning wind and percussion students. As an elementary teacher, she was responsible for having started thousands of beginning band students on their instruments and feels that working with beginners has been some of the most important and meaningful work in her career. Michelle also had the privilege of teaching Middle School Band, Flute Ensembles, Woodwind Ensembles, High School Marching Band and was chosen to conduct the Morris Union County Honors Band (MUJC) as well as NJMEA’s Central Jersey Elementary Honors Band.
